"Sorza is the solo alias of electronic musician and producer Roeland van Rijnberk, leading the pack in the experimental side of electronic music. Derived from the Basque word 'sorkuntza,' meaning creation, Sorza establishes himself in the experimental bass music and electronica scene. With clear influences from the Beats scene, which emerged around 2013 in Los Angeles, including acts such as Flying Lotus, Nosaj Thing, Tsuruda, and The Gaslamp Killer.

Sorza produces a wide range of genres within this framework and is not directly defined by a particular style or tempo but rather by an overarching sound world or sonics, which can be heard in all of his productions. The style is often labeled left-field bass because it is difficult to define; the most recurring aspect is that the music is half-time or half-tempo. He is fascinated by themes such as different mental states of consciousness or how one's perception of the world can change. Sorza proceeds by trying to break away from the individual song release format and prefers to think of the big picture with multiple songs in an overarching theme.

His debut project, 'I IDENTIFY,' released in 2021 on Los Angeles Beats label Alpha Pup, established the foundation of his musical identity. With a strong focus on audio-visual experience during his performances, he aims to take people into his world rather than make them 'dance all the time.' As Sorza says, it is about experiencing the flow of energy and being taken away into a world of images and sound."
