Alexander „Maysev“ Lipka is a 22 year old musician from Bavaria, Germany. In his three years of releasing music he signed on labels such as DIVIDID, Neosignal, Vision Recordings and SoundMuseum. The young artist set a new staple in melodic songwriting in Drum and Bass with releases such as his “Self-Shading EP” on DIVIDID music, “Figurine” on Vision recordings and “Maske” on DIVIDID music, which has gained notable amounts of recognition from other artists and parties in the scene such as The Caracal Project, Vision Radio and Tom Finster.

The Major Seventh chord, which portraits energetic and powerful melancholic euphoria, served as the anchor point for the “Maysev” project. These feelings heavily influence Alexander’s songwriting and elevates it beyond the typical boundaries of the genre.

Lately, a more club focussed sound has been showing up to the forefront of the project, to push into new, unexplored areas of melodic club music. Maysev’s latest single “Wasn’t Meant To Be” showcases his experimentation with combining melodic aspects with bass-heavy, dancefloor focussed production.
