Over the course of an 11-year career, Stefan Anfield aka JUNKMAIL has risen through the ranks of drum & bass. Firstly, building a reputation around the alias as half of 'Mind Vortex' for 8 years and now he has assumed his new brand 'Junk Mail'.
His journey began in 2010, when he signed his first two tracks to "Ram Records" for the 5th Instalment of Andy C’s Nightlife series. Ever since, he had a steady release schedule with his big wall of sound dancefloor bangers, as well as musical numbers such as “Now It’s Time” earning a slot on Radio 1’s Trever Nelson show - He then pushed forward to release No.1 singles such as “Hotbox” & “Gravity”, gaining great support from Zane Lowe and the whole Drum & Bass family. He craved a new vision for his music career but at the same time, staying true to his artistic abilities, which brought the creation of Junk Mail - His first release didn’t hold back with “Lock Stock”, getting some serious playing time with none-other than the mighty Andy C, A.M.C & Pendulum, to name a few.
Dropping his big riff monster all around the globe on a weekly basis and gaining its own nickname, the “barking tune”, it is safe to say Junk Mail was born! Ever since, he has been crafting his new vision with tracks such as “Yellow Jacket” and “Fire & Water”, which have earned him support by Radio 1’s Drum & Bass maestro Rene LaVice. Not only has he proven his talents as a producer, he has also showcased his abilities behind the decks, supporting Andy C’s sold out Wembley Arena Show and Andy C’s XOYO club show series. Adding to his performing skills, he unleashed a mix for the Ram Records “Annual” series and respectively received the vote to have his “RAMLive” set re-live, streamed along with some of the Ram Records greats!
With a hefty catalogue of tunes & collaborations being lined up for release over the coming months and with a new RAMlive mix on its way, Junk Mail will sure to be a name you will be hearing all about in the future.
